The Ethical Practice of Caring for Ourselves: Music & Memory
Details
One of the core values of Ethical Culture is bringing out the best in others and thereby in ourselves. In stressful times, it is easier to bring out the best in others when we are taking care of our own selves too.
"There are two means of refuge from the misery of life - music and cats."
-Albert Schweitzer
Debbie Tannert will take us through an active listening exercise with a piece from Johann Sebastian Bach. The practice of active listening helps us build connection, strengthens memory, and improves our mood.
Debbie Tannert is a retired music educator with 29 years elementary classroom experience in Austin ISD. She has extensive experience writing for national textbook
publications and the Music Memory Program.
This is a virtual meeting. Everyone who RSVPs will get a Zoom link by Sunday morning.
