What is the “core meaning” of “Welcome” and does it mean the same thing for each of us?

The Dictionary describes it as:
Hospitality: Greeting someone warmly and offering comfort upon their arrival.
Acceptance: Showing people that they are valued just as they are.
Openness: Willingness to include new people, ideas, or changes.

What does it mean to you? What is your experience of being wanted, appreciated and cared for? In exploring that question, we could also look at how “welcome” others into our world? Are there things we do or say that allow THEM to feel welcome or included?

During a Colloquy, participants reflect on and may speak about the theme introduced by a facilitator. Sharing about the session’s theme in a communal setting often promotes deeper insight. All participants are welcome to speak.

After the program, there will be a pot luck lunch. A Volunteer Deputy Registar will be on site and available to help you register to vote.

They say 'family is where you find it;' you may find yours with us--either in person at 5604 Manor Road, Austin 78723, or online via Zoom.
