So much of life unfolds in ways we never planned and cannot control. Across cultures and centuries, wisdom traditions have suggested that a key to living well is learning to tell the difference between what is within our power to change and what we must learn to accept.

Yet our lives are also shaped, in quiet but powerful ways, by the choices we make every day—the paths we take, the situations we place ourselves in, and the stories we tell ourselves about what is possible. Over time, these choices can become self-fulfilling, opening some doors while closing others.

This talk by Leader Curt Collier invites us to explore that tension: Where are the real limits of our control, and where do we have more agency than we might think? To what extent do we help create the world we experience, and how can we learn to recognize the difference between what we can change and what we can meet with acceptance?

This Gathering is at the meetinghouse and on Zoom. To receive the Zoom link, please email admin@ethicalfocus.org by noon on Friday.
