The Basics and Benefits of Composting

Details

Join us for the CAN!-hosted 9:45 Forum on June 8 (This is the program originally scheduled for February, rescheduled due to the speaker’s illness.)

Topic: “The Basics and Benefits of Composting”
Presenter: Melody Newton, Community Outreach Coordinator, New Earth Farm

Melody will describe the whats, hows and whys of composting. More specifically, she’ll cover the different types of composting, including residential, community and commercial, the science of composting, its benefits compared with the harms of sending our food waste to landfills, and the services provided by New Earth Farm. If you don’t have the time, space or wherewithal to compost on your own, you might be inspired to investigate how composting services might benefit your neighborhood, place of work or school. Composting can be cool! Bring an open mind, your questions, and your friends, too.
