Humanism and the Sacred

Details

The experience of the sacred is not the exclusive province of religion. It is a fundamental human experience, something that need not be prompted by holy scriptures, priestly incantations, temples of worship, or religious rituals. Everyday life is sacred, if we are alert to it. Humanism offers a pathway to understanding the experience of the “epiphany of ordinary life.”
