As the Halloween season approaches, we’ll take a Humanist look at the ghost stories, legends, and superstitions that haunt our imaginations. Why do people tell tales of spirits and the supernatural? What cultural values and ethical lessons are hidden within folklore? Creative Director Louise Jett will lead a step-by-step process for ethical reflections on ghosts, legends, and superstitions, and how mystery and myth serve human needs. Toward the end of the Forum, participants will be encouraged to create a new ethical legend or ritual together: one that speaks to courage, empathy, or justice in modern life. It will be interactive, intergenerational fun!
