Maintaining the Buzz
Details
Join the Climate Action Now! team on January 11 for its first 9:45 Forum of the new year. The program, “Maintaining the Buzz: Conserving City Bees and their Pollinator Services in Community Orchards” will be presented Nicole Miller-Struttmann, associate professor of biology at Webster University, Dr. Miller-Struttmann’s areas of expertise include bees and climate change and plant-pollinator interactions, among others. She also led the local citizen science initiative “Shutterbee”, which documented and studied bees and the plants on which they depend. It will be a few months before we can hope to see bees and butterflies in our own native gardens at the Ethical Society. In the meantime, we have an opportunity to learn about these amazing creatures and their place in the ecosystem.
