Pause. See. Choose. Mend.

Most ethical choices do not arrive with a warning. They appear in ordinary moments: someone is talked over, a difficult truth is avoided, a person needs care, or we recognize that our own words have caused harm. What we do next can deepen the distance between us or begin to repair it.

In this interactive gathering, Creative Director Louise Jett will introduce Pause. See. Choose. Mend., a practical Ethical Humanist framework for responding when a moment becomes difficult. We will explore how to slow our first reaction, notice who and what may be overlooked, act from our values, and return with honesty when something needs repair.

Through personal stories, shared reflection, real-life scenarios, and compassionate communication practice, participants will experiment with words that make room for dignity, accountability, and connection. We will consider how to speak honestly without diminishing another person, listen without rushing to defend or fix, and make choices that keep relationship and repair possible.

Ethical living does not require perfection. It asks for attention, courage, and a willingness to try again. When a challenging situation arises, we can learn to meet the moment with greater care and mend what matters.
