The Sound Guy Test

Bear Wade has spent a career running sound and video, guided by a rule he learned at fifteen: if you notice the sound guy, the sound guy failed. In this Platform talk, Bear steps out from behind the board to share what he has learned from watching a community gather, connect, and care for one another and to ask one question that might change how we show up for each other.

Bear Wade is the founder and CEO of Sizzle, a community software studio he has operated for more than 23 years, serving clients from startups to Fortune 500 companies. He is a four-time Telly Award-winning documentary filmmaker, producer of the PBS documentary “Paving The Way,” and author of “Unify Your Marketing.” He is also co-founder of the Red Meat Lover YouTube channel, which has grown to 190,000 subscribers and more than 18 million views. At ESSL, Bear serves as AV lead and guided the Society’s AV modernization project. This will be his first time at the podium.
