Among the social issues that still plague our society, gender equality sure is one of them. Let's meet up to discuss this issue and share our thoughts and experiences.
A reminder to any attendees that this is a space for the academic discussion of this issue. So, I hope any and all discussion can be held respectfully and with an open mind. Also, arguments that are not backed by any form of logic, scientific evidence, or clear reasoning will not be entertained.
DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
1. What does gender equality mean to you?
2. Do you think gender equality has mostly been achieved by modern societies, or is there still significant work to be done?
3. Should gender equality mean that men and women are treated exactly the same in all situations?
4. Are there areas where treating people differently based on gender might be justified?
5. Do you think current laws and institutions treat men and women fairly overall?
6. Should governments actively intervene to promote gender equality, or should change happen more organically through culture?
7. Should work places make special accommodations for pregnancy and parenting, and if so, how far should those go?
8. What responsibilities do men and women have in promoting equality?
9. Does focusing on gender risk overlooking other important factors like class, culture, or personality?
10. What would a truly gender-equal society look like in practice?
11. What do you think is the most important step toward a more equal society?

We will be meeting at 24h Caffeine Corner in Shinchon.
The address says "2층," or "second floor," but that's because the first floor of the cafe is actually the 2nd floor of the building. We will be meeting on the 4th floor if space is available there. Also, please be sure you are at the right cafe. This is 24h Caffeine Corner. There are other cafes with "24" in their names that are nearby.
