Open since 1988, this is one of the oldest Malaysian spots in the city, and might be my favorite. Pictured is their outstanding take on beef rendang among others. This meal is not recommended to those who avoid shrimp, as most dishes contain belachan. The food below is all ordered family-style, and we'll share everything.

Lobok- Seasoned pork wrapped with bean curd skin and deep-fried
Beef Rendang- Beef cooked down in coconut milk and chili
BBQ Skate
Pi Pa Duck - Roasted duck cooked in 5-spice powder and soy sauce
String Beans with Belachan Shrimp - String beans cooked with belachan/fermented shrimp paste
Deep-Fried Pork Loin Ribs- Seasoned with a blend of salt and pepper, typically includes a garnish of fresh chillies and crispy shallots.
Subgum Curry Stew
Rice- likely Coconut or Hainanese , likely 1 per two people
Belachan Crispy Fish - Whole fried fish topped and cooked with belachan
Please be considerate with your RSVP and change to No ASAP if not coming, so as not to inconvenience the restaurant or other diners. We do keep track of no-shows, and three will get you removed from the group. Also, please bring cash and some small bills: makes everyone's lives easier.
Transit: Take the 7 to the end of the line at Main St.-Flushing, and walk 5 minutes. The express should get you there quickly, but please give yourself time, as it'll be rush hour.
