Polish feast in Greenpoint, redux redux
Details
Let's return to Karczma for more of their winter-hearty Polish fare. (Last visit May 2024,) Expect lots of smoky meats, potatoes, & cabbage for around $30/pp; could be less, as portions are large & shareable. **For carnivores only.**
Definitely ordering:
Boiled pierogi filled w/cabbage & mushrooms
Large grilled plate (2 kinds of sausage, black pudding, pork neck,
---chicken & pork shashlik, salmon, chicken breast, bacon)
---w/BBQ, garlic & horseradish sauces, plus fried cabbage & potatoes
Spicy beef goulash w/potato pancakes
Some other enticing possibilities, subject to discussion:
White borscht in bread
Grilled trout w/herb garlic butter
Steak tartare
Herring in cream appetizer
Pickle soup
Likeliest dessert (if we have any room!): Karczma crepes w/fruit & cheese
