Cafe Emmanuel - Queer Ensemble Project performance!
Details
Café Emmanuel is a weekly luncheon for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender seniors and friends.
This cafe has been around since 2004 and is still going strong! We are always striving to reach new people and bring in new faces to the community. It features occasional entertainment that follows each meal, including recitals from the New England Conservatory and Boston Conservatory as well as, a wide variety of guest speakers.
There is a suggested donation of $2 for Seniors ($5.00 adults under 60). This goes towards keeping the nutrition programs running for the community.
There is a wide variety of food each week that is brought in from City Fresh. Coffee and tea are also provided. You do not have to eat - you can also just come for community.
If you are interested in coming please RSVP, by emailing ethoscafe@ethocare.org or call 617-477-6688 as soon as possible. We cannot guarantee food if you do not RSVP.
Queer Ensemble Project, founded by Mina Kim and Sam Kelder in 2024, is an initiative to uplift and celebrate queer artistry in the greater Boston area; to bring to the forefront LGBTQ+ performers and composers, amplify their individual voices; and start conversations between performers and audience with the ambition of building a stronger community around music – particularly audiences of LGBTQ+ youth and elders who may experience the need for community the greatest.
Queer Ensemble Project presents a concert program that traces the meaningful journey of self-discovery, the process of coming into one’s own over time. Through music by Haydn, Barber, and living composers Caroline Shaw, Gareth Farr, Inti Figgis-Vizueta, and TJ Cole, we embark on a musical journey that wanders, transforms, and rises into light - over the rainbow.
