Monthly Meetup in Mayagüez

Come and connect with other Ethereum enthusiasts and experts in Mayagüez for our monthly meetup Saturday night, August 21st.

Home to the University of Puerto Rico and the Cervecera de Puerto Rico, Mayagüez is a hub of activity, art, and imagination. Set amidst the sunsets on the west side, Mayagüez may hold the hope for a future sustainable and sovereign island through uniting the youth.

So where does Ethereum fit into all of this? How can we employ NFTs, De-Fi, DAOs, staking, and games to coordinate a more equitable and exciting future?

While the legacy of Betances lives on in the minds of many, unfortunately, his former home in Mayagüez now sits abandoned and boarded up.

What if we were to fundraise to rehabilitate the building and turn it into a museum and community center through minting NFTs as memberships?

Or establish a cooperative-owned de-fi bank using a community currency to support local businesses?

Or operate an eco-friendly Caribbean transportation network of electric sailboats and seaplanes to move people and cargo affordably and sustainably through the islands?

Or develop a DAO that manages a staking validator with rewards reinvested in the community?
