With the ever-changing situation we find ourselves in, we still have database systems to maintain and develop. Thanks to the PASS organization, the Eugene SQL Server User Group has been provided with a GoToMeeting account. Our first virtual meeting will take place at noon on the second day of the month as usual.

Topic: Getting your database code into Source Control
Source control has historically been associated with application code rather than database code, but more and more database professionals are seeing the value it can provide for managing database changes and deployments. In this demo-heavy session, I will take you through some simple steps to get your database into a Git repository, and push that repository to a remote server. Along the way we’ll discuss some of the advantages of having your database code in source control, and I’ll present two different approaches to deployment that can affect how you will organize your code repository. Git basics will also be covered.
If we have time left over, we would love to hear about some of your experiences as database professionals in the current situation, whether you are working from home or on site.
