Silver Falls (Trail of Ten Falls) Hike

Details

About the Hike:
This popular trail through Silver Falls State Parks forested canyons visits 10 spectacular waterfalls (five more than 100 feet high). The path leads through mossy caverns behind the falls' shimmering silver curtains. This hike is suitable for hiking newbs because there are trails that provide shorter loops back to the car without doing the full trail.

Difficulty:
The full loop to see all 10 waterfalls (from South Falls to North Falls) is a moderate hike of 7.2 miles, gaining 800 feet of elevation. There are two shortcuts; one omits Twin and North Falls which trims the loop to 5.1 miles, and a second shortcut that makes the hike a 2.8-mile loop.

Pets:
Dogs are not allowed on the trail in the canyon and a portion of our hike will take place there. Unless you want to remain on the rim, please do not bring your pup for this one.

Getting There:
Please park in the lot for the South Falls Lodge Trailhead (follow links below). A $3-per-car fee is charged to park. This fee can be paid by credit card via one of their parking meters. We will meet in front of the lodge just a bit down trail from the trailhead/parking lot.
