Friendly N'hood Site Tour Postponed to June 28

Details
The June 21 site tour of Friendly Neighborhood is postponed to Saturday, June 28 because expected significant rain.
The tour is the same, just delayed a week.
Site Tour - Meet - 11 AM, Common Ground Garden, 21st and Van Buren
Saturday, June 28, 11 AM
This site tour will visit several locations in Friendly Neighborhood, starting at Common Ground Garden. CGG is a former unused soggy city street right of way turned into a wonderful cooperative neighborhood garden. The tour will visit a residential property nearby with resilience/permaculture features for food production and also an impressive planting of in the ground olives and citrus.
Next, the tour will visit the Friendly Tool Box Project - a volunteer-driven, tool-lending library open to residents of Lane County. The TB Project and CGG are excellent examples of neighborhood initiative to boost the well being of people and the environment. After the Toolbox, we will visit a nearby property with resilience features that also participates in Map Your Neighborhood, a city program that connects neighbors for emergency preparedness planning.
Finally the tour will finish at Friendly Market. We want to imagine the apartments across the street as a proxy for developing a parking lot into a neighborhood point of positive interest. Join us on the tour to hear why this is important. Bikes are strongly recommended. Please forward this message to friends and networks.
The Friendly tour is part of a series of site tours and companion zoom presentations. Additional site tours will include Jefferson Westside N'hood, East Blair Housing Co-op and Hummingbird Wholesale. See the complete schedule of site tours and zoom presentations [first two on youtube] at suburbanpermaculture.org
