The RAIN Intellectual Property Workshop will introduce non-lawyers and students to intellectual property law (patent, copyright, trademark, and trade secret) and will discuss intellectual property issues of particular importance to early-stage tech companies.

The discussion will include intellectual property management, obtaining utility and design patents, selecting distinctive trademarks, and copyright's work for hire doctrine.

The RAIN Workshop will be presented by Eric Priest, Assistant Professor at the University of Oregon School of Law, Kristie Gibson, LL.M. Program Director at the University of Oregon School of Law and attorney at Gartland, Nelson, McCleery, and Wade, P.C., and Julianne Davis, Of Counsel at Lane Powell, formerly Assistant General Counsel at Nike, Inc.

The RAIN Intellectual Property Workshop will be held at the University of Oregon School of Law (Room 175) from 12:30pm – 2:30pm on Wednesday, October 29, 2014.
