On Going!: Share Chef Challenge Experiences And/Or Invite People To Meet You
Details
This is NOT an event. This posting is about creating a space for those interested in the Challenge to report experiences and even invite people to meet you somewhere. RSVPs will stay in touch with each other thru the Discussion posts.
Last I heard, there are *18* restaurants participating! It could be tough to go to them all, and it might be helpful to learn how others felt about their experiences. More importantly, I think it would be really fun to connect with others who are participating in the Challenge. This is a really easy/low work way to do it.
RSVPing does not obligate you to do anything. You are welcome to RSVP and lurk after that. RSVPing just connects you with the group of people who are interested in the Challenge while letting people who are not interested in the Challenge not have to see all the communications.
HOW IT WORKS
Depending on your settings in meetup, when you RSVP for an event, you should get emails or phone notices about postings in the Discussion area below. So anyone who has a good or bad or neutral experience at a Challenge location can post about it, and you will get the review. You can also reply back to that post and ask questions or share your own experiences. You know, dialog.
The idea is to provide a place to connect and be supportive and hopefully inspire people to get out there and try the various Challenge restaurants.
Also, if you think it would be nice to meet some people at a Challenge location, you can post something like, "Hey, I'll be at ___ tomorrow at noon. Anyone who wants to join me is welcome. I'll be the person wearing..." This can be very informal. It's possible that no one will come. It's unlikely that too many people will show. I think this idea is a fairly safe experiment to try. The best and quickest way to learn about these informal invites (which might not give much notice) is to RSVP for this "event".
WHAT THIS IS *NOT*
Participation in this Eugene Veggies "event" is not replacing voting in the Challenge. Voting in the Challenge is still important. You can vote by scanning the QR code on the Challenge menu that is provided at each restaurant or by going here:

The above link also lists all the participating restaurants along with links to finding the restaurant. You can start planning out your February dining experiences right now!
