Synergy in Action: Event Storming + Event Sourcing
Details
Event Storming and Event Sourcing Architecture is an extremely effective combo to use in complex domains, greatly simplifying tasks while raising performance, scalability, and responsiveness.
The essence of this approach is learning to think in terms of events. It is a mindset shift, but did you ever wonder how old this approach is? Since when did mankind use event sourcing?
During this presentation, we will first apply Event Storming to analyze a simple real-life problem. Starting from the events we've identified on our Miro board, we'll then model the solution and describe the architecture to implement it.
Agenda:
- Introduction to Event Storming via a simple example
- Event-driven vs Event Sourcing architecture
- Example of a simple REST API implemented using Spring Boot and PostgreSQL
- (optional) More elaborate architecture example for a non-blocking system using Kafka and Kafka Streams
- Continuous debates on questions from the audience.
About the speaker:
With more than 20 years of experience in various software development positions, from programmer to architect, Miron Brezai is currently serving as CTO of eSolutions. His focus is on designing custom software solutions on cloud infrastructures and microservices architectures for various business domains. Miron can easily adapt to any technology with a preference towards open-source java tools and frameworks. He is also actively involved in eSolutions Academy, delivering training in key areas, such as Java, Design Patterns, Spring Framework, Clean Code, Reactive Programming, Microservices Architecture, and Big Data Tools.
In the last 7 years, Miron used Event Storming and Event Sourcing for all the projects he was involved in. Why? Because it helped to better understand and clarify the client's needs, model the solution, and craft the architecture.
Like usual, the event will also be live-streamed on YouTube, where it will remain recorded: https://youtube.com/live/BWJbseDnGiE
