### About this Trek

The Carros de Foc Challenge is a spectacular high-altitude hut-to-hut journey through the heart of the Spanish Pyrenees. Over 5 tough but breathtaking trekking days, you’ll traverse granite ridgelines, cross deep alpine valleys, and hike past more than a dozen glacial lakes within Aigüestortes National Park — one of Europe’s most pristine mountain regions.

Along the way, you’ll collect stamps from remote mountain refuges to complete the official Carros de Foc “Fire Chariots” challenge.

### What to Expect

Fitness: Expect full days of hiking with significant ascent and descent. Training recommended.
Backpacks: You’ll carry your own pack (~10–12 kg).
Terrain: Rocky paths, boulder fields, high passes and technical but non-climbing alpine terrain.
Mountain huts: Simple, lively and atmospheric refuges — dorm-style rooms, warm meals, and incredible views.
Food: Hearty Pyrenean dishes (vegetarian options available; limited vegan options).
