I hope you are doing well. I’d like to invite you to a special, intimate gathering in Evanston this Sunday—bringing together art, conversation, and our shared connection to the Great Lakes.

On Sunday, May 17 at 2:00 PM, we’ll gather at Grove Gallery for Connections, Conversations, and Commitment: Reflections on the Great Lakes, a salon-style event held alongside the exhibition Horizons: The Waterscapes.
The afternoon will feature artist Louise LeBourgeois, whose work is deeply inspired by her experience swimming in Lake Michigan. Her reflections on the lake—its movement, atmosphere, and emotional depth—offer a powerful lens into how we experience these waters personally.

Matt Alsteil, VP of Development at the Alliance for the Great Lakes, will also share a few brief remarks on their work, the impact of this community, and where we see meaningful opportunities ahead to protect and restore the Great Lakes.
This will be a relaxed and engaging gathering with time for conversation, connection, and light refreshments. It’s also a meaningful way to support the Alliance, with a portion of exhibition sales and optional guest donations benefiting the Alliance for the Great Lakes.

Location: Grove Gallery Evanston
619 Grove Street, Evanston, IL 60201

Space is limited, and we expect this to fill quickly.
