Join us for a long float down the Wabash River.
We'll start at the June Barrett Public Access Site on Church Street in New Harmony, IN and paddle (or float) 5 miles downstream to Harmonie State Park.
This float will take approximately 2~4 hours. We'll eat lunch at Harmonie State Park.
Be prepared to battle some Asian carp while paddling. They jump out of the water in masses (as shown in the photo). Bring a knife of other long sharp object to terminate any carp that might land in your boat. (Laws prohibit throwing live carp back into the water.)WHAT TO BRING:
- PFD
- Sunscreen
- Dry bag with change of clothes
- Packed lunch, snacks, and water.

LOGISTICS:
We'll carpool from USI at 9:00am. All drivers will need to go to Harmonie State Park, where we'll leave a vehicle at the takeout. We'll then meet at the June Barrett site in New Harmony at 10:30am, where we'll begin our paddling adventure.COST:
Drivers will need $7 for entry into Harmonie State Park.
Otherwise, this event is free. (Consider pitching in for gas, though.)OTHER NOTES:

Join us for a casual float on Loon Lake under a full moon.
We'll put in at the north parking lot of Loon Lake (see map) at 7:30pm. Sunset will follow shortly afterward at 8:16pm. Enjoy a moon-lit lake until we take out again at 9:30pm.WHAT TO BRING:
- PFD (required, must be worn)
- Kayak, Canoe, SUP or other watercraft
- Paddles
- Headlamp
SAFETY / LOGISTICS:
- On your way into the park, stop by the Bluegrass Lake parking lot to fill out your daily-use permit.
- Unload and park at Loon Lake.
- Fill out an index card with your name and phone number.
- EVERY person must complete their own index card.
- Place the index card in the provided box before you enter the water
- When you return from the water, pull your index card from the "CHECK IN" and place in the "CHECK OUT" box.
- Visit the permitting area as you depart to return your daily use permit.

Join us for an afternoon on Lake Celina. There's no destinations to achieve... just get out and explore and socialize at your leisure.
We'll begin Saturday afternoon (2:00pm) at the Lake Celina boat ramp. Kayak at your own pace around the lake.
There's picnic tables at the boat ramp if you'd like to bring dinner in a cooler. You can also pack lunch in a dry bag and eat wherever and whenever you'd like.
I recommend bringing a swimsuit so you can cool off in the water! Swimming is permitted in embayments at least 300ft from the boat ramp.
Dogs are permitted, but must be on-leash at recreational areas (including the boat ramp).WHERE TO MEET:
Meet either at Lowe's to carpool (12:30 CDT) or at the boat ramp parking lot (2:00 CDT).WHO SHOULD JOIN:
Anyone with a kayak, SUP, raft, or other floating vessel that wants to spend the day on the lake.WHAT TO BRING:
- PFD (required)
- sunscreen / sunglasses / hat (highly recommended)
- dry sacks for your gear
- a spare change of dry clothes (in your vehicle) in case you get wet
- water
- snacks
- swim suit (optional, but highly recommended)
WHAT TO EXPECT:
- You're probably going to get wet.
- We'll very likely swim at the southern beach.
- the water will be cool, around 65°F
