Get your ideas onto the page and finally MAKE THAT ZINE!

Zines are small books, usually made out of a single sheet of paper, that anyone can make! In this all-ages workshop, join us to develop your zine from start to finish. Learn different ways to fold the same piece of paper to acquire different zine formats. Each month we'll focus on a different topic so you can keep coming back to make more!

The cost of the class includes 10 copies of your zine printed on your choice of Risograph colors or on our Laserjet printer.

October: Comics! We'll use zines to make small comics. Have a comic character in mind? Or want to make an autobiographical comic about something fun you did this past week? All are welcome--even if you've never written a comic before.

November: Fanzines! We'll harness our rabid appreciation for different media. Make a fanzine about your favorite book, movie, TV show, local radio station, cats, or whatever else you're a fan of. We'll look at some examples and talk about how to balance writing and art while making a zine about what you love.

December: Collage! Tear into our extensive used magazine collection to cut and paste your way to success. Collage is a wonderful way to use your imagination while starting with some images--so you don't have to come up with them all by yourself!

January: Perzines! A perzine (personal zine) features anecdotes, stories, or memoir about your life! Plan your 2026, tell a story, explore how you're connected to people and nature, or write a how-to guide.
