After School Art for KIDS! : Speak Now!
Details
This class offers pay-what-you-can pricing, but registration is required. Sign up here.
Come spend your Monday afternoons with us at Push/Pull in Ballard! We will spend time creating, sharing, storytelling and using a diverse array of media to create finished works of art. This program is ideal for students ages 7 - 10.
We have three different series of artistic topics that you can sign up for! Sign up for one series or all three!
Beyond the Self-Portrait Session A (Oct. 6 - Oct. 27)
Learn how to use art to express who you are beyond the traditional self-portrait. Create masks, collages, motivational mirrors, and abstract depictions of who you are. By the end of these four sessions, you will not only have a collection of pieces to proudly display, but also a stronger understanding of your self-worth, individual identity, and deeper empathy for viewing others. Beginners are welcome!
Speak Now! (Nov. 3 - Nov. 17)
Have something to say? Are cats or dogs the better pet? How important is it to care for our world? Everyone who has something to share will find their place in this class! Learn about artists who are speaking out through their work, and how to speak out through your own. Experiment using printing, painting, and collage to share your perspective with the world. No experience necessary!
Beyond the Self-Portrait Session B (Nov. 24 - Dec. 15)
For After School Art for Kids, we offer pay-what-you-can pricing. We are a small business and recommend a minimum of $5 per day that your child is here (or $20 per section listed above), though no one will be turned away for lack of funds. Please pay what you are able to help us provide our youth programs through [Bal-Art.org](https://www.bal-art.org/).
Ellie Karyo (she/they) is a young artist who believes that visual expression is powerful and connects people regardless of backgrounds or beliefs. She has a strong background in multimedia arts, with past work displayed at the Seattle Art Museum, and encourages those around her to embrace the impact of art for both themselves and others.
