Strange Girls Club features the untamed landscapes of womanhood through a collection of surreal acrylic paintings. Set within dreamlike environments, Summer Clarke's figures take root in imagined worlds that borderline concepts of fantasy, whimsy, and spirituality. These works invite viewers to enter a world where symbolism reaches girlhood in the strangest way.

The opening reception is July 11, starting at 6pm!

This exhibition also marks the debut of Armstead, an original comic written and illustrated by Clarke. Chapter one introduces Armstead, a spacefaring bunny detective's day-to-day adventures. Enjoy the mature hijinks of his friends and enemies in this 40-page adult comic!

Summer Clarke (she/her) is an illustrator whose work focuses on dramatic storytelling through design. Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, she works primarily in acrylic painting and pen-and-ink illustration. Her creative practice spans a variety of disciplines, including sewing, drawing, painting, and design, allowing her to bring to life the many ideas and narratives that emerge from her imagination. She currently resides in Seattle's Ballard neighborhood, where she can often be found taking walks with her dachshund, Napoleon. Follow her journey through her artist's Instagram @alittlemustard.
