ℹ️ What's a Storytell Social?!
At Storytell Socials, we believe that our stories are the best way to get to know each other. Each month we explore an open-ended theme to connect with others in a way that really matters. No awkward small talk found here.
🎬 We'll start with some easy mingling and casual activities designed to get us interacting with new faces. We'll also throw around questions that get us thinking about what the theme means to us, and how it might have played a role in our lives.
🪑 We'll round up again together as a greater group and get cozy around the room. Generally we'll have multiple seating options so choose which makes you feel the best. Picture story time in elementary - but with real stories and with grown ups. Now it's time to start hearing some stories about your fellow Storytell Socializers. Will they be funny? Sad? Scary? Thrilling? Confusing?? Who knows, that's the beauty of this thing.
🎙️ Have you got a story to tell? Great! Take any open spot to tell yours! Don't feel like sharing anything that day? No worries at all, no one calls on you here, it's not really elementary. You can just sit back and listen.
Whether you’re meeting new friends, expanding your network, or simply interested in the human experience, Storytell Socials are a great way to connect with others - because there’s no better way to truly get to know someone than through their story.

⏳ March's theme: It's Never Too Late
Some things don’t come with a deadline. A conversation you’ve been meaning to have, a change you’ve been considering, a risk you weren’t ready to take - there’s still time. This month, we’re sharing stories about taking action when the moment feels right, no matter when that is.
⚡️ What to expect:
- Arriving: Hosts will check in and give you your drink ticket along with some other items to get you ready to mingle. Feel free to arrive early, we'll be there 30 minutes before the event starts
- Mingling & Icebreakers: We'll have some activities and questions ready to get you interacting and getting to know new people
- Storytelling: Share a story - or just listen, totally up to you! We'll also leave some time to ask questions too
- Wrap up: Event will wrap up but the venue will remain open so feel free to stay and keep the conversations going!
You'll also have a chance to join our WhatsApp group if you would like to stay connected (if you haven't already)!

FAQ's 👇
⏺ Do I have to share a story? Nope! If you’d prefer to just listen because you’re interested in the human experience and want to connect with people, that’s totally fine. There are other ways to connect here.
⏺ Sharing a story sounds terrifying. How and why do people do this? It’s really not as scary as you think - we promise! Humans are inherently wired to exchange stories in order to identify with each other and connect.
Do we always tell a group of people all at once an anecdote about our life though? No - but here you can if you’d like! If listening to other people’s experiences is more your jam that’s totally cool too.
Once you get into this low pressure environment and start hearing other stories, you might surprise yourself. We can’t count the amount of times where we’ve heard people say they didn’t plan to tell a story but ended up telling one. If that doesn't happen though, that is totally fine!
⏺ I don’t know what to share. What if I can't think of anything? No problem! Our starting activities will get the wheels turning, but also head over to our Instagram page as we post throughout the month on how you can think about the theme.
Hearing peoples stories throughout the evening can also sometimes draw our memories and remind us of a story that we’d like to tell. Your story also doesn't have to be groundbreaking so make sure you're not putting too much pressure on yourself. Stories come in all shapes and sizes.
⏺ Does my story need to be deep or personal? Only if you want it to be! It can also be casual, funny, or anything in between. The only thing that we request is that it's a real story.
⏺ How does one even tell a story? We get this question a lot so it now has its own section on our website. Please head over to this link to read more about how you might want to think about telling a story. However, these are just guidelines and it's your story so if you have a different way you want to tell it, go for it! Make sure you’re following us on Instagram for tips and tricks we post throughout the month.
