The Everest Base Camp Trek (EBC) is a legendary high-altitude trek in Nepal that takes you to the foot of Mount Everest (8,848.86 m), the world’s tallest mountain. This 14-day itinerary includes time in Kathmandu. It is a mid-range package that balances comfort and adventure.
It is perfect for both beginners and experienced trekkers. You will hike through the Himalayas. You will cover over 100 km on foot. You will see tall peaks, Sherpa villages, and peaceful monasteries. The highest point of the trek is Kala Patthar, at 5,545 meters.
It offers stunning sunrise views of Everest. Everest Base Camp is at 5,364 meters on the Khumbu Glacier. This camp is a fantastic place where climbers prepare for their summit attempts.
In just two weeks, you will see many different landscapes and climates. You will start in the lower Khumbu, which has green pine forests and terraced fields. Then, you will move to the high alpine areas above 4,000 meters. The route goes through famous Sherpa towns like Namche Bazaar (3,440 m).
This town is a busy trading center in the Khumbu region. It also passes by peaceful monasteries like Tengboche, with Ama Dablam in the background. You should plan to hike for 5 to 7 hours most days. There will be two breaks to help you adjust to the altitude.
