Olympia Area BIke Trails -- Day 1

Details

First of two days exploring some of the great railtrails in the Olympia area. This one is for everyone, and day 2 for those who don't need to be in the office Monday morning.

We'll meet at 10:30 am on 3rd St SE in Lacy near the Holiday Inn and Candlewood hotels (where some of us will stay after the ride). After 2 blocks on 3rd Street we get on bike trails, and that's all we'll be on for the next 32 miles. Today it will be 3/4 mile on the I-5 Bike Trail then the Chehalis Western all the way south to where it meets the Yelm-Tenino Trail, with a picnic lunch stop at the free Monarch Sculpture Park that is right on the trail. RidewithGPS says it's 620 feet of climbing for the day, virtually all on gentle grades since it is, after all, a railtrail.

For those interested in staying over in Lacy and riding Day 2, we'll carpool to a restaurant tbd in downtown Olympia for a group dinner.
