Olympia Area Bike Trails -- Day 2

Details

For those of us who don't have to punch the time clock on Mondays, meet up at the Yelm end of the Yelm-Tenino Bike Trail. Parking for the trail is on Railroad St. in Yelm, next to the Boys and Girls Club. This is a short block to the right (SW) off Yelm Ave (aka Hwy 510), in downtown Yelm.

We'll ride the paved, relatively shady railtrail 14 miles to Tenino, with lunch at the comfy Sandstone Cafe, then head back the way we came for a total of 28 miles and 630 feet of climbing per RidewithGPS. For those with additional energy and/or curiosity about the railtrails here, there's an optional segment of the railtrail (but with a different name, the Prairie Line Trail) that runs to the ENE until it reaches the derelict RR bridge over the Nisqually. For those interested in doing it, it adds 5 1/2 miles and 98 additional feet of climbing to the day.
