The Timp, West Mt., Bald Mt. & Dunderberg - 13 Miles

This is a strenuous level hike due to the distance and elevation gain. We will start and end at the Jones Point parking area. There is an abundance of views and varying terrain to make this a fun day out in Bear Mountain State Park. Faster hikers who can self-navigate are not obligated to wait for the main group. Everyone should review their maps or navigation apps, as there are several tricky connections. Make sure this hike is in your comfort zone before signing up.

Route:
1. Timp-Torne (Blue)
2. TT & AT merge
3. (R) AT branch (White)
4. AT & 1777 merge
5. (R) 1777 (Red)
6. (R) Cornell Mine (Blue)
7. (R) Ramapo Dunderberg (Red) - with short up to Bald Mt. & return
8. (R) Ramapo Dunderberg (Red) at junction
9. (L) TT (Blue) back to cars

You will need to bring 2 liters of water and snacks. Sturdy hiking boots and moisture-wicking clothing are advised. Also, you may want to bring bug netting.

Parking is on the West side of Route 9W at the River Road intersection. There are two gravel lots next to each other.
