Hello and welcome.
We will be doing some fun exercises to learn how to draw and gain confidence while we have fun. Some ground rules for the session will be.

1. Let’s be positive and uplifting to one and other. No negative talk about others or ourselves.
2. Let’s respect each others time please let me know if you will be late or are unable to come.
3. This is a safe space to share but never any pressure to share if you are not comfortable.

materials: You will need a sketch book or paper to draw on, a pencil, and an eraser.

Schedule:

There are three exercises that we will explore.

First we will do an observational drawing without looking at our paper. This is an exercise to learn observation and release expectations. It’s a nice way to start where you don’t have to take yourself so seriously.

Second. We will choose an object to draw from the coffee shop or if you would like to bring your own object to draw that is fine. If you bring your own object please choose something that is a simple shape.

Third after we draw our object we can talk about shading. We will do some preliminary exercises to practice before working on our chosen object drawing. We will practice shading a sphere, a cube, and a cylinder.

If we have time and we want to draw a little more there is a fun group exercise we can do together.
