And Saturday 10 am we will be live on zoom and on discord. Join us--learn things, win prizes, make the world better!

The Allstate Data Hack for Good, is taking place virtually Saturday and Sunday 5th and 6th June 2021. It is being held in partnership with Belfast City Council and supported by the Department of Finance Open Data Innovation and Outreach Fund. We are excited this year to be collaborating with AWS.

The hackathon is open to technologists of all experience levels and backgrounds, with the goal to use data and technology to make life better in Belfast. During the hackathon, on demand technical training will be available, including data visualisation, data manipulation, model building, and Alexa Skills. Experts will be on hand throughout the event to answer questions, troubleshoot and support a collaborative approach to using data to solve problems.

This year, we are focusing the hackathon on mobility and travel in Belfast and understanding the opportunities and challenges in a post-covid environment.

Hackathon Launch:
We are launching the challenges and announcing the prize pot prior to the start of the Hackathon. We are inviting the participants to join us virtually for a panel discussion and a showcase of projects using open data at 7pm Wednesday June 2nd.

The Hackathon will take place virtually. We want to use open data to explore how people move in and use Belfast. Training, support, inspiration and guidance will be provided throughout the event. There will be lots of prizes, big and small, food vouchers, learning, memes and the opportunity to make connections.
