Interested in languages and curious what it is actually like to hear Esperanto spoken in person?
Join Evolving Lingvo NYC on Saturday, August 8 for an informal Esperanto meetup in the Financial District.
Esperanto was created as an international language for communication between people from different linguistic backgrounds. Today it has speakers around the world—and a community here in New York.
This meetup is open to:

  • Esperanto learners and speakers at any level
  • polyglots and language enthusiasts
  • people interested in linguistics or constructed languages
  • anyone curious about multilingual and international communities in NYC

You do not need previous experience with Esperanto. Conversation may move between Esperanto and English, and newcomers can listen, ask questions, learn a few words, or practice whatever they already know.
This is a social gathering rather than a formal lesson or structured language exchange.
Saturday, August 8
12:00 PM–2:00 PM
Le Pain Quotidien
85 Broad St, New York, NY
We will likely be seated at the outdoor tables, weather permitting. Look for a small Esperanto flag and Esperanto books, and message the organizer through Meetup if you have trouble finding the group.
Please purchase a drink or snack to support the café.
All levels are welcome, including complete beginners.
