Ambient Book Club - A Quiet Reading Space

This is a calm, low-pressure session with no expectation to take part socially. Attendance is limited to 6 participants to keep the atmosphere gentle; while others may be present in the venue, the space remains quiet and focused on reading.

The event runs from 6:00–8:00pm, and the venue remains open until 10:00pm for those who wish to stay.

From 12 bar "We have partnered with Exeter City of Literature to host our own ambient take on the Silent Book Club.
It is a relaxed, welcoming reading group built around quiet connection and shared time with books.
At each session, we gather simply to read together — no assigned titles, no pressure to socialise, just an hour of communal silent reading in the same space.
Bring whatever you’re currently reading, arrive in your own time, and enjoy the calm. After reading, there’s the option to stay for informal chats and a drink, or you’re free to read and go."

You’re welcome to arrive up to 15 minutes before the session starts if you’d like a little time to get settled. The venue may still be active at this time.
