We will meet at Meldon Reservoir Car park (thus.however.foresight on WHAT3Words) EX20 4LU at 10am (public toilets are there)

We will then hike across the dam, and follow the water around before climbing through the valley. We will stop to look at the Ancient woodland at Black-a-Tor Copse (lovely moss covered treees and rocks along a babbling brook) before climbing up to the ridge at High Willhays (this bit is a bit steep (the Highest point in South West England with stunning 360 degree views across Devon, before trekking on to Yes Tor. We will then loop back, usually passing some beautiful dartmoor horses.

The hike usually takes about 3 hours at a gentle pace but please allow longer so we can be flexible and patient if anyone is a bit slower.

Progress can be slower due to slightly marshy ground if there has been a lot of rain in the days before - Walking boots are strongly recommended or a change of footwear if you don't have these.

If people have the time and energy, depending on our progress, we can walk along the valley from the Dam to take a closer wook at the Viaduct which is now part of the Granite Trail which is an extra 1 hour loop.

We will then go to the pub which is likely to be the Tors Inn in Belstone

If anyone cannot drive there and wants a lift, please register and then message the attendees and I'm sure someone can give a lift from Plymouth/Exeter/Okehampton etc
