Our 2009 groundhog may tell us on February 2nd but let's not wait any longer to celebrate our long and cold winter and spring being around the corner (that the groundhog sees its shadow or not). If you were a fan of the Aster Café under Brigitte Biraud's management (she left about a year ago), you will be delighted that she's just opened a new joint at the former location of Columbia Grounds at 3301 Central Avenue NE in Minneapolis. Serving many of the same cold pasta salads and hearty soups (the corn chowder with bacon is a winner) that drew hungry tummies to the Aster for the three years she handled that café, you can sate your cravings now at Lily's, named after Biraud's mother(+ (they will be making crepes especially for us on that day!)
