Catherine Guthuix vit et travaille à Toulouse. De la peinture à la gravure, son écriture picturale est une conjugaison de force et de fragilité. Son geste, une fois posé, libère encore l’énergie vitale dont il est né, et nous emporte dans la mouvance de la matière. D’entrelacs en espaces spiralés ou en fragiles échafaudages d’un monde flottant, parfois le trait se mue en signes calligraphiés. Végétal et minéral se confondent, se prolongent et incarnent ce qui nous relie au sensible. Jusque dans ses grandes toiles, Catherine Guthuix nous propose de franchir des seuils par un jeu de coupes, de relief et de transparence où la forme conserve l’attrait d’un mystère.
