À la veille du 1er mai, journée internationale des travailleurs, il est naturel de se poser la question : quel sens donnons-nous désormais au travail ? Longtemps perçu comme une valeur première, un marqueur d’identité et un moteur d’ascension sociale, le travail semble perdre de son évidence dans une société où d’autres priorités gagnent du terrain.
Certaines personnes installées dans des postes rémunérateurs décident de tout quitter pour devenir artisans ou maraîchers... Accusée de ne plus vouloir travailler comme avant, la jeune génération rebat les cartes : refus de certaines contraintes, quête de métiers porteurs de sens...
Faut-il y voir un désamour du travail ou l’invention d’un nouveau modèle ?
Entre rejet du salariat, quête de sens, télétravail, pénibilité et risque du burn-out, comment la société française recompose-t-elle aujourd’hui son rapport au travail ?
Autant de questions auxquelles nous tenterons de répondre lors de ce Rendez-Vous de l’Actu consacré à un thème aussi intime que collectif : travailler, oui… mais pourquoi, comment et à quel prix ?

How is French society redefining its relationship with work today?

On the eve of May 1st, International Workers' Day, it's natural to ask ourselves: what meaning do we now give to work? Long perceived as a primary value, a marker of identity, and a driver of social mobility, work seems to be losing its self-evidence in a society where other priorities are gaining ground.
Some people with well-paid jobs decide to leave everything behind to become artisans or market gardeners... Accused of no longer wanting to work as they used to, the younger generation is changing the game: rejecting certain constraints, seeking meaningful careers...
Should we see this as a disenchantment with work or the invention of a new model?
Between rejection of salaried employment, the search for meaning, remote work, arduous working conditions, and the risk of burnout, how is French society currently redefining its relationship with work?
These are some of the questions we will attempt to answer during this "Rendez-Vous de l’Actu" (News Rendezvous) dedicated to a theme that is both personal and collective: working, yes… but why, how, and at what cost?
