Last min Barba Dixie Jazz Band Street performance with the best like-minded expats and returned Spaniards to meet up!
A journey through the history of essentially lively music, and an invitation to uninhibited dancing and shared joy. That is, in essence, a street show by the Barba Dixie Band, whose intention is once again to act as entertainers in marching band format at some of the most significant moments of the Madrid International Jazz Festival.

La Barba Dixie Band makes music that, starting with rhythms native to the streets of New Orleans, opens up to the contagious appeal of all kinds of old melodies, moving ballads and frenetic bursts of adrenaline characteristic of the southern United States. The percussion intertwines with the banjo's string lines, contrasting with the jazzy wind of the trumpet, tuba and trombone. And in the repertoire, a handful of hits are revamped and, at times, hark back to many of the creations heard in the clubs and bars of New Orleans' rebuilt Vieux Carré.

On this occasion, the Centro Superior Música Creativa and the Dixie Brass Band are once again collaborating to bring their music to this parade, which will inaugurate the JAZZMADRID concert series at the Fernán Gómez Theatre. The band has a generous array of brilliant soloists: banjoist Mario Siles, tuba player Víctor Correa, trombonist Luis Zenner, trumpeter David Harrington and dashboard player Andreas Freites, whose subtle percussion will set the rhythmic tone.

Victor Correa Hernando - tuba
Carlos Díaz Pascual - clarinet
Mario Siles Camacho - bass
David John Herrington - trumpet
Andrés Alberto Freites Viamonte - dashboard
