About us
Welcome explorers to 'Expedition Costa Blanca', we are a group that will be exploring the exciting, spectacular, and hidden sights of the mountain areas of the Marina Alta and Marina Baja, in the Costa Blanca region of Spain
This group will appeal to those who are already 'fit to hike' with a sense of adventure, who want to meet like-minded individuals to enjoy the great outdoors.
Some of our trips will involve various grades of scrambling, ridge walks and you may need a head for heights. This will be explained fully on each event page.
For those of you that are just novices at hiking and lack experience of mountain hiking, we will aim to run some less challenging events to allow you to gain the necessary experience and fitness. These will be clearly stated on the programme of events.
We look forward to meeting you all on our adventures.

Expedition : The 5 Peaks
Bar La Font, Carrer Salamanca, 26, Famorca, Al, ES🇬🇧 This is the 2nd of the Mount Toubkal training hikes
Are you ready for a mountain challenge?
Known as the “Alicante Pyrenees,” Sierra de la Serrella is one of the most impressive mountain ranges in the region. Stretching more than 13 kilometres across rugged limestone terrain, it forms part of the Natura 2000 Network thanks to its environmental importance and distinctive landscape.
This is a proper mountain hike — rewarding, varied, and physically demanding in places.
We begin our route from Famorca, following mountain paths that take us across ridgelines, steady climbs, and open sections with far-reaching views. There will be consistent elevation gain throughout the day, so a good level of fitness and steady pacing will be important.
During the hike, we aim to summit five key peaks in the range:- Mallada del Llop – 1,360m
- El Comptador – 1,236m
- Pic de Serrella – 1,323m
- Plenya de la Terra Nova – 1,385m
- Pla de la Casa – 1,263m
Here are some key points to keep in mind:
- This is a full mountain day with sustained climbs and varied terrain.
- A good level of fitness is required.
- Weather conditions on the day will determine which variation of the route we follow.
- The ridge can be exposed, so appropriate clothing is essential.
- Steady pacing and time management will be important throughout the hike.
This route offers a fantastic combination of challenge and scenery, linking multiple summits in one rewarding day. A great opportunity to build endurance and enjoy one of Alicante’s most beautiful mountain areas.
Come prepared — and let’s take on the Alicante Pyrenees together.***
