About us
Welcome explorers to 'Expedition Costa Blanca', we are a group that will be exploring the exciting, spectacular, and hidden sights of the mountain areas of the Marina Alta and Marina Baja, in the Costa Blanca region of Spain
This group will appeal to those who are already 'fit to hike' with a sense of adventure, who want to meet like-minded individuals to enjoy the great outdoors.
Some of our trips will involve various grades of scrambling, ridge walks and you may need a head for heights. This will be explained fully on each event page.
For those of you that are just novices at hiking and lack experience of mountain hiking, we will aim to run some less challenging events to allow you to gain the necessary experience and fitness. These will be clearly stated on the programme of events.
We look forward to meeting you all on our adventures.

Expedition: Cim de Maigmó
Balcó d'Alacant, Tibi, Al, ESPico del Maigmó is the highest peak in the mountain range of the same name and a popular hiking destination in Alicante province. The hike starts at the well-known recreational area of Balcón de Alicante. Although the trail is considered easy, it requires a degree of sure-footedness and comfort with heights. Equipped ascents, chains, staples, and narrow ledges make for a challenging climb. If you enjoy moderate difficulty and want to test yourself, this hike is a great choice. The route's trickiest parts have plenty of equipment in place to ease the ascent, providing hikers with stunning summit views without too much difficulty. However, it's important to be mindful of the trail's demands and comfortable with exposed terrain.
Once we finish the hike, we can head back to Balcón de Alicante, where a lovely picnic area awaits. Feel free to bring your own food and drinks if you'd like to extend our time together and enjoy a delicious picnic while taking in the breathtaking scenery.*************************************ESPAÑOL***********************************

IMPORTANT: This event is for those who have completed the Canyoning Skill Day or have autonomous experience.
Barranco del Bessó is a dry, fun canyon located between Novelda and Agost, Alicante. The descent includes 10 rappels, with the longest measuring about 26 meters (or up to ~40 m if you include its main affluent), offering a great opportunity to practise your technique and rope work. The canyon is mostly dry, with polished limestone and plenty of continuous movement. The approach typically takes about 1 hour from the vehicles, the descent lasts approximately 2–3 hours, and the return is straightforward at around 20–30 minutes back to the cars.
Jota’s Take: It’s been a while since I last did this barranco, and when we did it previously it had suffered some significant rockfall, causing the last couple of rappels to disappear. I’m really looking forward to going back and seeing what new challenges it may hold for us — a proper adventure with plenty to keep you on your toes!IMPORTANTE: Este evento es para quienes hayan completado el Día de Habilidades de Barranquismo o tengan experiencia autónoma.
