What we’re about
Welcome explorers to 'Expedition Costa Blanca', we are a group that will be exploring the exciting, spectacular, and hidden sights of the mountain areas of the Marina Alta and Marina Baja, in the Costa Blanca region of Spain
This group will appeal to those who are already 'fit to hike' with a sense of adventure, who want to meet like-minded individuals to enjoy the great outdoors.
Some of our trips will involve various grades of scrambling, ridge walks and you may need a head for heights. This will be explained fully on each event page.
For those of you that are just novices at hiking and lack experience of mountain hiking, we will aim to run some less challenging events to allow you to gain the necessary experience and fitness. These will be clearly stated on the programme of events.
We look forward to meeting you all on our adventures.

See all- VIA FERRATA: PENYA DEL FIGUERET K2Vía Ferrata Peña del Figueret, Relleu€5.00
IMPORTANT: This event is only for those who have completed the Via Ferrata Skill Day, shared skills day, or have a relevant qualification.
Join us for a Last (day time😉) Via Ferrata adventure before the summer, on one of the area's most rewarding K2 via ferratas – Penya el Figueret! This route packs in a lot of fun in just a few hours, with a fast and scenic climb that gains elevation quickly – much like Ponoch – and ends with a fantastic rappel descent.
Expect exposed traverses, great views, and just enough challenge to keep things interesting. The route is ideal for those who’ve already tackled a couple of ferratas and want something a little more adventurous, without stepping up to K4.
The rappel at the end is not optional, but don’t worry – if you’re still building confidence with abseiling, Jay will guide you down safely. It’s a brilliant finish to a scenic and satisfying route.
After the ferrata, we’ll head to a local bar or restaurant to relax, refuel, and share the day’s stories.Jota's Take: This is definitely one of my favourite K2s. It feels like a scaled-down version of Ponoch – big views, a fun climb, and a proper descent that makes it feel like a complete adventure.
