Event description: Help solve the challenges of collaboration in Maker Ed. Join us for the Collaborative Learning App Design Challenge to #HackCollaboration
This will be a two-day action-packed event, Friday, Sep 28 from 1-8pm, and Saturday, Sep 29 from 10am-5pm, to brainstorm and design UDL-informed apps to support collaboration and communication around project-based learning in maker education in the classroom and informal learning environments. Includes dinner on Friday and lunch on Saturday.
You will:
— Explore the opportunities and pitfalls of collaborative learning.
— Learn how Universal Design for Learning (UDL), a framework that embraces learner variability from the outset, can be applied for more effective app solutions (see udlguidelines.cast.org).
— Innovate: Brainstorm, design, prototype, and pitch an app that transforms the collaboration process. There will be raffle prizes!
Work alongside people with common interests from different fields: designers, developers, product managers, students (high school and up), educators, researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs. No experience necessary. You will be well supported every step of the way. Please bring a laptop/tablet if possible.
We hope you can join us! Please sign up only if you are committed to attending both days. Other ways to follow along:
