Details

This meetup is provided by www.testingtime.com.

> Talk #1: Invest in UX Research, return in your product
Adam Banks and Konstantin Samoylov, former Google UX Researcher and Lab Designer and Co-Founders of ux-study.com

> Talk #2: Good Behaviour - Improve and prove the effectiveness of UX
Stewart Dean, Principal User Experience Designer at Mendeley (Elsevier).

> Abstract Talk #1
UX Researchers spend up to 1/3 of their working time on tasks not directly related to research - dealing with technical issues, editing video, checking that unreliable systems are set up correctly, researching and upgrading makeshift research systems and software. Employ a team of 3 researchers, and you're essentially paying one person to be a technician - invest that researcher's salary into the correct technology and you're freeing your whole team to work in the job you hired them for. Simple, reliable research technology lets you conduct more study, more quickly - allowing researchers to work more closely with product teams.

#Adam Banks is a UX Researcher and Lab Designer. He worked at Google for 10 years, during which time he designed and built more than 50 UX Labs and design centres around the world.

#Konstantin Samoylov has been working in and teaching UX research for over 20 years. He worked for Google as UX researcher in Android, Emerging Markets, Search, Voice and Virtual Assistant projects.

Adam and Konstantin are Co-Founders of www.ux-study.com.

> Abstract Talk #2: Good Behaviour - Improve and prove the effectiveness of UX

It's about looking at user behaviour and using that to improve and prove the effectiveness of user experience. The talk will be based around a John Lewis example and give examples of how to measure effectiveness in non e-commerce situations.

#Stewart Dean is a veteran of the UX London scene and has a career of
ups, downs and sidewards movements. He has worked for at least 12 of
the top ten London agencies, managed to improve the Journey Planner
whilst UX manager at TfL and worked out how to make bread makers
easier to find online at John Lewis. He now is working to save the
world by helping scientists share their data using Mendeley Data, part
of Elsevier.
