Niagara-on-the-Lake Day: Funny Girl Show + Pre-Wine Tasting + Post Dinner
Note: There is one deeply discounted ticket left at $58 (regular $127) sitting next to an attendee.
On Saturday June 27th, join us for a Day in Niagara-on-the-Lake. We will start with Wine Tasting, then see Funny Girl - the number 1 show at the Shaw Festival this year, and end with Dinner. Two other shows will also be playing - Sleuth and Heartbreak House. We will be seeing Funny Girl, and I have one more deeply discounted $58 (regular $127) ticket available for purchase by messaging me. After the show, there will be time for shopping and we will end with dinner, prior to heading back to Toronto. Note: you will need to arrange your own transportation to and from, and confirm if you will be joining for dinner, as reservations are required, and wine tasting. In addition, all out of town events require your cell and email.
SHOWS:
Funny Girl (2 hours 40 mins)
Fanny Brice has everything it takes to be Broadway’s next big thing: the voice, the charm and more than a little chutzpah. But does she have “the look?” This touching comedy explores her unlikely rise to stardom with the Ziegfeld Follies as well as her turbulent love life with gambler Nick Arnstein. One of the greatest musical scores of all time, Funny Girl includes classics like “Don’t Rain on My Parade”, “I’m the Greatest Star”, “People” and much more.
Sleuth (2 hours 20 mins)
When a celebrated mystery writer invites his wife’s lover to their home in the English countryside, all is not as it seems. What unfolds is a fiendishly clever game of psychology and deception – but who is playing with whom? And is it really just a game? This Tony and Edgar award-winning play is a quintessential crime thriller guaranteed to provide an edge-of-your-seat experience. Perfect for whodunit fans.
Heartbreak House (time unknown at posting)
The shadows of war may be gathering, but for most of the weekend guests at Heartbreak House, the big questions are about love and marriage. As the couples waltz in a dance of ever-changing partners, only the enigmatic old sea dog Captain Shotover seems to see what is coming towards them. Often ranked as one of the great plays of all time, Heartbreak House is Shaw at his most entertaining and mysterious.
Note: show is currently sold out but people update their tickets all the time, so you can likely score a ticket.
