What we’re about
If you want to get out and see/ do/ taste new things, explore arts and culture in Toronto, learn, meet new people and have fun, then this is the group for you. Adults/ single/ married/ any gender/ background/ religion are all welcome. We'll often see/ do something and talk about it after, over a meal. I'll do my best to find interesting events at the best prices. Most events will be on weekends, with occasional evenings during the week night, dictated by that event. You can look forward to a curated list of diverse, easy events that are well-organized with a friendly and caring host, and come away enjoying the time and possibly making a new friend.
We will go to art galleries, museums, theatres, see/hear live music such as jazz, pop, symphony and opera, ballet, movies, Toronto International Film Festival, walks, dances, astronomy events, Christmas markets, try new and established restaurants, high tea, and in the summer, cruises, trips to Niagara-on-the-Lake and Stratford.
During our home stay, events will be posted more frequently, will generally be international, free, online, and we will sometimes have the opportunity to participate in live ones. We'll also virtually travel to international famous sites, cities and countries.
I hope you will join us.

Virtual: REGISTER Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala talk about her Memoir
OnlineImportant: When you RSVP yes, you will also need to Register directly with the host company to receive the link to the event.
On Wednesday October 22nd, be one of the first to hear from Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai about her astonishing memoir, Finding My Way. Malala reintroduces herself to the world, sharing how she navigated life as someone whose darkest moments threatened to define her narrative—while seeking the freedom to find out who she truly is.
Thrust onto the public stage at fifteen years old after the Taliban’s brutal attack on her life, Malala Yousafzai quickly became an international icon known for bravery and resilience. But away from the cameras and crowds, she spent years struggling to find her place in an unfamiliar world. Finding My Way is a story of friendship and first love, of anxiety and self-discovery, of trying to stay true to yourself when everyone wants to tell you who you are. In it, Malala traces her path from high school loner to reckless college student to a young woman at peace with her past.
Through candid, often messy moments like nearly failing exams, getting ghosted, and meeting the love of her life, Malala reminds us that real role models aren’t perfect—they’re human.
Finding My Way is a vulnerable, surprising memoir that buzzes with authenticity, sharp humor, and tenderness. It is an intimate look at the life of a young woman taking charge of her destiny and is a deeply personal testament to the strength it takes to be unapologetically yourself. Register now for an online conversation you cannot miss!
Note: You will need to register in advance to receive the link to join the session.

3 attendeesFree Gardiner Re-opening: New Exhibit/Gallery, Tours, Clay Workshop, & Curators
Gardiner Museum, 111 Queens Park, Toronto, ON, CAOn Sunday November 9th, join me for the Re-opening of the Gardiner Museum after a “once-in-a-generation”, $15 million renovation that has fully transformed its 9,000-square-foot ground floor. We will also be part of the opening of the new, immersive, and largest exhibition from Linda Rotua Sormin: Uncertain Ground**, and the First-ever Gallery of Indigenous Ceramics. The whole Museum will come to life with hands-on clay activities, tours, live music, food, dance, and more. Experience their new Collection Galleries, Makerspace, Community Learning Centre, and hear directly from artists and curators.
For the first time in its history, the museum is opening a permanent dedicated gallery for Indigenous ceramics, curated by Herbert-Spense and called Indigenous Immemorial: Ceramics of the Great Lakes Region. Indigenous Immemorial will be part of The William B.G. Humphries Collection Galleries on the ground floor, which will also include works from Indigenous Latin America made before 1550 and European pottery, along with modern and contemporary showcases.
The ground floor will also feel “lighter, brighter and more welcoming” because of an open concept remodel that allows guests to see all the way through to the back of the museum....
