On Sunday, June 7th, discover two of Canada’s leading cultural institutions in one day with this special bus excursion from the Textile Museum of Canada to the McMichael Canadian Art Collection. Explore six exhibitions spanning contemporary fashion, textiles, Indigenous art, and iconic Canadian landscapes, while enjoying comfortable round-trip transportation between venues, and admission to both Art Gallery and Museum. There will also be an opportunity to purchase a hearty lunch from Food Dudes. It’s an all-Canadian outing that is not to be missed!

This day provides all participants with full access to six exhibitions. Your day will start off at the Textile Museum of Canada, providing access to two collection based exhibitions and a brand new contemporary fashion show. Made By Many: 50 Years of the Textile Museum of Canada is an opportunity to reflect on the Museum’s curatorial direction throughout the past 50 years. Unfolding across galleries and over 30 exhibitions, you will trace the Museum’s evolution from the present day back to its beginnings in the 1970s. As an extension of that, *Taking Shape: Recent Acquisitions *showcases a selection of artworks the Museum added to its permanent collection between 2023 and 2025. On our third floor, Always in Fashion showcases an immersive exploration of Indigenous design languages and their transformative impact on the fashion landscape of the lands we call Canada and the United States.

On view at the McMichael are three exhibitions that offer historical perspectives and contemporary interpretations of landscape and place. Old Growth: Masterworks by the Group of Seven and their Contemporaries brings together iconic paintings that capture the enduring power and vision of Canada’s early modern landscape tradition. Fresh Air: New Acquisitions in Context highlights recent additions to the collection, placing them in dialogue with historical works to reveal fresh perspectives on Canadian art. Early Days: Indigenous Art from the McMichael presents important works by Indigenous artists, offering insight into the cultural knowledge, histories, and creative expressions that continue to shape the country’s artistic landscape.

1:25PM: Meet at the entrance to the Museum to board the bus as a group
1:30PM: Bus departs from Textile Museum of Canada
2:30PM: Arrive at McMichael Canadian Art Collection
3:50PM: Meet outside the entrance to McMichael to board the bus as a group
4:00PM: Bus departs from McMichael Canadian Art Collection
5:00PM: Bus arrives at Textile Museum of Canada
5:00PM: Head out for dinner at a nearby restaurant

• RSVP Yes/No to dinner after, and include your cell and email (required for all out-of-town events, only visible to me). Everyone goes on the waitlist until they have paid for their ticket. I will then reach out to you with the email to transfer the $30 to secure your spot. Once you pay for your ticket, you will be moved to attending. There are no refunds.
• Your ticket will be provided at the meetup time and location.
• A reminder will be sent the day before with my cell and reminder details where to meet and when.
• RSVPs close 2 days prior and cancellations may result in a No Show and impact future attendance.
