DesoLAtion Center: when LA's underground headed for the desert

Details

LA's punk scene was steeped in DIY and infused with art. It was also infamously suppressed by LAPD. Desolation Center documents a time when they went underground and then out of town to avoid the police riots. Blazing the trail followed later by the raves, Burning Man and Coachella. The Minutemen, Sonic Youth and Survival Research Laboratories figured heavily. Sooo
Before the screening we'll get a performance from Mike Watt (Minutemen, dos, fIREHOSE, Banyan etc) Stephen Perkins (Jane's Addiction, Porno for Pyros etc).
Then the incredible documentary. Followed by Q&A with director Stuart Swezey, producer Mariska Leyssius, and legendary punk performance artist Johanna Went. Seated $45
