Experimental Jazz / Neo-Soul Ensemble in Osaka

I’m starting a small experimental jazz / neo-soul ensemble in Osaka/Kyoto.

This is NOT a typical jam session.
The goal is to create a space where we can experiment, take risks, and develop our ensemble skills together.

・Small group (3–5 people)
・Mistakes are welcome
・Focus on rhythm, space, groove, and interaction

You don’t need to be highly experienced in ensemble playing.
This is a place to develop that skill, not to already have it.
Background in jazz or neo-soul is welcome, but not required.
Curiosity, openness, and willingness to listen and respond matter more than repertoire.

We’ll mainly work on jazz standards and similar tunes, using them as a foundation to explore interaction, rhythm, and musical communication.
We’ll also work toward simple recordings or small performances over time.
Looking for musicians (vocals, keys, guitar, bass, drums, etc.) who want to grow through real musical interaction.

First session will be simple and exploratory.

Practical details:
・The session will be held at a studio in Osaka city
・Studio rental fee will be shared among participants
・Please bring your own instrument and any necessary equipment
・The studio location will be shared once we confirm the number of participants and make the reservation.
・The current location (Bass On Top) is just a placeholder. The actual studio will be confirmed based on availability within Osaka city
