Talk 1: Microservices to Micro Models - Rethinking Backend Architecture in the Age of AI
by Rajesh Pitty

For over a decade, backend architecture has revolved around APIs, services, and business logic layers. We decomposed systems into microservices to scale teams and manage complexity.
But AI is changing a fundamental assumption: where decisions are made.
In traditional systems, business logic lives in code. In AI-enabled systems, reasoning shifts to models.
This talk explores what happens when we replace APIs with intent and move decision-making out of services into controlled reasoning systems.
Using a real-world example of an NLP-driven CRUD engine, we will walk through how natural language can be transformed into structured operations without introducing agents or autonomous workflows. Instead of adding complexity, we constrain AI within deterministic system boundaries.

Outline

  • Why the traditional API → service → database model starts to break with AI
  • How to design an intent layer that replaces APIs
  • Structuring model outputs for predictable execution
  • Why “models over agents” leads to more controllable systems
  • The impact on testing, observability, and system design

Talk 2: Conversational AI for Operational Automation
by Vijayakumar G

Operational teams are frequently burdened by high-volume distribution lists (DLs). This talk will demonstrate how Conversational AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) are being successfully deployed to automate the process of triaging and responding to incoming emails.
We will present the architecture of an intelligent agent designed to read typical DL emails, leveraging LLMs for accurate summarization, content tagging, and priority scoring. A core feature is the agent's ability to identify crucial missing information and autonomously generate follow-up emails for data collection. This capability significantly cuts down on human response time and dramatically boosts operational efficiency.
The session will include practical case studies, details on the underlying models, and best practices for deployment.
